A Journey thru Time Begins Here
My entrepreneurial journey began much earlier than most. At the age of 10, my sister Krista and I took charge of running a small business—Krista and Karen’s Soft Ice Cream—out of our family grocery store.
While this may seem like a simple childhood venture. It was my first exposure to the realities of business ownership. We were responsible for everything from hiring and training employees to managing inventory and handling the day-to-day operations. I quickly learned how to balance budgets, manage people, and provide great customer service. All while juggling schoolwork, the responsibilities of being a teenager, and working full-time running another small store at the boat marina.
The experience taught me invaluable lessons in leadership and accountability. Also, running our own business empowered me at a young age. Helping me understand the importance of responsibility and work ethic.
It also sparked my lifelong passion for entrepreneurship. And shaped my understanding of the crucial balance between structure and creativity in business. What started as a small ice cream stand grew into a profitable venture. This would eventually fund my college education.
Looking back, I realize how pivotal this experience was in forming my approach to business today. Additionally, the lessons learned in those early years still guide how I coach and mentor others in their entrepreneurial pursuits.
Hands-on Education
My journey in education and business has been a deep, hands-on experience that truly shaped who I am as a coach and business leader—earning my B.S. in Business Management from the University of Phoenix. I immersed myself in every detail of business operations, studying everything from management philosophies to financial systems and corporate efficiency. My belief that “learning never stops” became my professional and personal motto. I understood early on that in business, growth requires constant learning and a dedication to self-improvement. This commitment has driven me to develop skills far beyond the classroom.
I applied my education in various high-impact industry roles in the following years. Including positions like operations and project management. With each position broadening my understanding of business structures and leadership. I’ve managed complex projects with budgets up to $2.5 million and led organizational restructuring efforts that led to revenue increases of over 30%. Additionally, my hands-on approach extended to technology. Where I developed proficiency in business applications to streamline operations and support efficient business strategies.
Education is not a one-time achievement but a continuous journey for me. Additionally, I’ve had certifications in Non-Profit Management, Anger Management Facilitation, Reiki Master Teacher, CranioSacral Therapy, and the Art of the Way. More recently, I received certification in Business and Marketing Specialization, which includes certification in Social Media Management and marketing, Meta advertising, and Brand Management.
Today, I bring this commitment to learning and evolving to every client, empowering them to lead with knowledge and insight.
A True Pioneer
In 2006, I founded my holistic business coaching practice, Therapy in Transition, to combine my corporate experience with a holistic personal and professional growth approach. At the time, the concept of integrating business strategies with healing practices like Reiki and Craniosacral therapy was unheard of. Each session is a combination of coaching, body and energy work. So I am working with all three elements in each session.
Yet, I knew from my own journey of self-awareness and healing that business success goes beyond strategies and systems—it’s also about aligning the mind, body, and spirit.
As a certified business coach, Craniosacral Practitioner, and Reiki Master, I took a pioneering step by creating a space where clients could rediscover their inner wisdom while learning how to thrive in their businesses. I recognized early on that the most successful entrepreneurs and leaders are those who understand their deeper purpose and align it with their professional ambitions. My practice empowers women to navigate their businesses with balance, clarity, and intention, guiding them through personal growth that strengthens their leadership.
By embracing this holistic approach, I’ve been able to help countless women transform their businesses by first transforming themselves. Also, this unique combination of business expertise and holistic healing has set me apart. As a true pioneer in the coaching industry, where strategy meets soulful transformation.
Projects & Operations
Throughout my corporate career, I have held key roles requiring me to manage complex projects and operations across various industries. Also, my experience spans overseeing multimillion-dollar projects while guiding global operations. And restructuring businesses for greater efficiency and profitability. Whether working with teams or leading a workforce of 75, I have consistently delivered results by aligning people, processes, and resources with a company’s long-term goals.
One of my most significant roles was as Corporate Administrator for a technology company, where I directed all aspects of organizational development and internal communications. Additionally, I implemented processes and policies for a multi-country start-up organization. Also, I spearheaded change management initiatives and set up processes to ensure the company’s long-term growth. My experience also includes setting up operational systems from scratch, improving business applications, and streamlining accounting systems to support sustainable business growth.
I have always believed in fostering a culture of accountability. Where employees are empowered to take ownership of their roles. Additionally, by introducing the right operational strategies, I have helped companies increase their productivity by over 30%. By reducing costs and enhancing employee satisfaction. My holistic approach to operations is about more than just numbers—it’s about creating environments where businesses and their people can thrive together.
This experience informs every aspect of my business coaching today, allowing me to guide clients through similar transitions and expansions.
Tito’s Legacy – Therapy in Transition
Therapy in Transition was born out of one of the most personal and transformative experiences of my life—my dog Tito’s battle with bone cancer. As I supported Tito through his illness, I discovered a deep connection between healing, personal growth, and the power of inner wisdom. His journey inspired me to embrace holistic healing on a new level, and it became clear that my path was leading me to help others unlock their own potential through a blend of coaching and healing practices.
Therapy in Transition became the platform where I combined my expertise as a Reiki Master, Craniosacral Practitioner, and certified business coach to support clients in rediscovering their inner strength and wisdom. My mission was, and still is, to create a safe, open environment where individuals can explore their challenges, reflect on their experiences, and transform their lives. Just as Tito’s illness was a catalyst for my personal growth, I believe every client’s challenges offer opportunities for profound change.
Through Therapy in Transition, I helped women entrepreneurs and business owners bridge the gap between personal and professional success by aligning their inner energy with their business goals. This holistic approach continues to allow my clients to embrace healing and leadership, fostering sustainable growth and lasting fulfillment.
From all of this, the Get Savvy brand and the Women’s Business Resource Community were born. My personal experience forms the guiding principles of community, accessibility, and empowerment.
Coaching Philosophy
My coaching philosophy centers on empowering women business owners to reach their full potential confidently, clearly, and purposefully. I believe that true success comes from aligning personal values with professional goals. This principle has guided me throughout my 22 years of business experience and formed the foundation of my coaching approach.
At the heart of my philosophy is the belief that each individual holds immense potential, often untapped, waiting to be unlocked. I encourage my clients to connect with their inner wisdom and strength, much like I did throughout my journey. By creating a safe and supportive space, I help women navigate challenges, embrace change, and find the courage to lead authentically.
One of my core principles is “Aces in Their Places,” which means that every individual thrives in a role that is fulfilling and aligned with their natural talents and passions. I work closely with my clients to help them recognize these strengths and ensure they are in the best position to succeed. This approach fosters not only professional growth but also personal satisfaction.
Ultimately, my goal as a coach is to help women discover their unique leadership styles, build thriving businesses, and make empowered decisions with long-lasting impact.
